About the Tribal Area
Uintah and Ouray Reservation is a reservation in Utah associated with this federally recognized tribe, and it spans about 6772 square miles of land plus roughly 50.8 square miles of water. The latest FCC BDC filing shows 8 fixed providers and 4 mobile providers across roughly 15,618 service locations, with current availability of 65.8% at 25/3 Mbps, 55.5% at 100/20, and 48.3% at 1000/100.
Tribal Area Description
Uintah and Ouray is a federally recognized tribe in Utah with reservation lands. The land base is relevant for broadband planning due to rural service coverage and middle-mile access constraints.
The Utes, meaning Land of the Sun, has a tribal membership of 2,400. Ute Indian Tribe’s journey began with a deep connection to the land and a vision for a sustainable future. The Ute Tribe hosts an annual Powwow Celebration around the fourth of July holiday. The monument is a place to view the names of those who served without question and at times gave the ultimate sacrifice. Our varied businesses cater to different needs, ensuring holistic growth within the tribe. They operate businesses like Super Market, Gas Stations and more. The names of those who died in combat are etched in the Soldiers Cross. The monument provides a solemn place for individuals and families to reflect on the sacrifices made by a few for the many.
