Tribal Area Description
Ponca in Oklahoma is an Oklahoma Tribal Statistical Area (OTSA), a Census statistical geography intended to represent the former reservation area associated with the tribe rather than a current reservation or trust land base. Boundary records for Ponca show about 163.6 square miles (104,676 acres) for this Oklahoma Tribal area, centered near latitude 36.5882231 and longitude -97.0977514. Local FCC BDC records indicate 16 fixed providers and 5 mobile providers across about 1,144 service units, with roughly 100.0% fixed 100/20 coverage.
In order to be eligible for Ponca Tribal membership, applicant must be at least one-eighth (1/8) Ponca and an application will need to be submitted to the Ponca Tribe of Oklahoma with a copy of a certified birth certificate. The Ponca Tribe of Oklahoma is a federally recognized tribe that has more than 3,500 registered members. Fancy Dance Casino is owned and operated by the Ponca Enterprise Gaming, LLC (PEG), a subsidiary of the Ponca Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma. The sole purpose of Fancy Dance Casino is to provide a source of revenue and employment for the Ponca Tribe and residents, for the benefit of economic growth. The Ponca Tribe invites the public to our Annual Celebration and Fancy Dance World Championships at White Eagle Park in Ponca City, Oklahoma.
