Tribal Area Description
Otoe-Missouria in Oklahoma is an Oklahoma Tribal Statistical Area (OTSA), a Census statistical geography intended to represent the former reservation area associated with the tribe rather than a current reservation or trust land base. Boundary records for Otoe-Missouria show about 192.4 square miles (123,134 acres) for this Oklahoma Tribal area, centered near latitude 36.4223594 and longitude -97.0868106. Local FCC BDC records indicate 16 fixed providers and 4 mobile providers across about 571 service units, with roughly 100.0% fixed 100/20 coverage.
Women’s History Month–first and only female former chairperson the Otoe-Missouria Tribe, Della Warrior, donates pipe to tribe. Large crowds attended the Otoe-Missouria Winter Encampment, among them were a contingent of Ho Chunk relatives and Kiowa guests. Health Dept cultural craft classes serve as a cornerstone for community wellness program. The Otoe-Misosuria WIC program is part of the Oklahoma Milk Bank system. Tribal youth will travel to several ancestral sites in Nebraska, Iowa and more. SEBT provides benefits to buy groceries to qualifying families with school-aged children. A Topping Out Ceremony was held for the Multipurpose building construction project recently. The 7 C Land & Cattle Steakhouse is a fine dining steakhouse that features the finest of certified Angus beef steaks, fresh seafood & shellfish along with regional specialties.
