About the Tribal Area
Pyramid Lake Paiute Reservation in Nevada is the primary broadband planning geography for this federally recognized tribe, and it spans about 556 square miles of land plus roughly 174.0 square miles of water. FCC BDC records show 12 fixed providers and 4 mobile providers across roughly 907 service locations, and current service levels of 99.2% at 25/3 Mbps, 93.6% at 100/20, and 91.2% at 1000/100.
Tribal Area Description
Tribal lands in Nevada are associated with Pyramid Lake Paiute, a federally recognized tribe. The land base is relevant for broadband planning due to rural service coverage and middle-mile access constraints.
The Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribes’ Reservation is located thirty five miles northeast of Reno, Nevada in a remote desert area... The Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe envisions an ideal lifestyle where its enrolled members prosper physically, emotionally, spiritually and economically. We aspire to achieve through trusted cooperation, coordination, and collaboration with local, regional, and nation communities, and with individuals and organizations who aim to achieve similar goals of the Tribe and its community. From everyone on Tribal Council and the Administration, thank you all for your patience and understanding and have a wonderful weekend.”. Our vision is to increase and use cultural knowledge and experience to protect and preserve the natural resources of the Pyramid Lake and Northern Paiute homelands. The paperwork was submitted earlier this week to the BIA.
